Vehicle detector installation-ground induction coil installation method

The installation method of ground sensing coil may be unfamiliar to many people. The editor of the vehicle detector installation manufacturer will introduce it in detail below.

The detector should be installed in a moisture-proof and dry environment as much as possible, and kept a certain distance from other equipment or devices for wiring and maintenance.

2. Coil Installation Guide

Whether the detector can work normally depends to a large extent on the induction coil it is connected to. Several important parameters of the coil include: coil material, coil shape and size, and coil construction quality.

Coil installation

Because the SJ400T vehicle detector has a large inductance self-tuning range, the detector has a wide adaptation range for the inductance of the induction coil (including the feeder), and the length of the feeder can be up to 500 meters, which is conducive to engineering applications. It is recommended to use the entire cable (without connector) for the coil and the feeder.

  • ⑴ Coil material: Generally, polyethylene AWG16~22 multi-core high temperature sheathed wire can be used, and PVC insulated wire is not used.
  • ⑵ Coil shape and slotting method: The coil is generally rectangular, and the four corners are 45-degree chamfered to avoid sharp corners to cut the coil cable.
  • ⑶ Coil construction steps:

①Draw a line on the road, and determine the size of the coil according to the test object to avoid the sharp corners from damaging the cable insulation;

②Set saw slit: the depth is generally 50~80mm;

The uppermost cable in the trough should be at least 30mm away from the ground, and the trough width is generally 4~8mm, which should be larger than the cable diameter. Cut the feeder wire trough, remove the sharp corners in the trough, clean up the debris, and check whether the trough bottom is flat;

③The cable of the entire inductance coil (including the rectangular coil and the feeder) should be unconnected, and the cable should be routed layer by layer from bottom to top in the slot and compressed until the total number of turns is completed;

④ The feeder (from the rectangular coil to the detector) must be twisted and then extended to the detector, twisting at least 20 times per meter;

⑤The coil cable must be fixed with a plastic foam rod about 3cm in length every 20~30cm, so as to prevent the cable from floating during the caulking;

⑥Gap filling: The gap in the groove must be filled and integrated with the road to prevent the coil from trembling when a car passes by. For cement pavement, cement, asphalt or epoxy resin can be used, while for asphalt pavement, only asphalt can be used as a joint filling material.
